I remember being a part of the Buffalo Trace Council. I always assumed it was referring to the large traces left by buffalo. ;) I didn't even know there was a trail. I'm guessing that monument is at Red Hills by the labels. Where is it?
Well, Jeremy, you are not too far off! The Buffalo Trace is a reference to the large swaths of land left barren from the seasonal migrations of the Buffalo.
This photograph was taken in Vincennes at the Memorial Bridge. But the 'buffalo trace' was located between Sumner and Red Hill State Park.
